BASF and Plant Products Host New Seminar Series for Ontario Golf Superintendents

The BASF seminar series kicked off its inaugural year, with a series of presentations designed to aid golf course superintendents in the season to come and beyond.

The session began with Dr. Frank S. Rossi and his turf management experiences with the new Yankee Stadium and the 2009 US open at Bethpage State Park golf course, Long Island, New York.  Both situations, were examples of top quality turf management carried out under extremely challenging conditions.  The US open weather situation with the extreme amounts of rainfall provided some especially interesting stories.

The day continued with a presentation from BASF’s Scott Hodgins on the BASF company and its turf products.

Dr. Jerry Pepin from Pickseed brought us up to date on grass seed varieties and  Integrated Pest Management.

Dr. Rossi completed the day with a report on his research projects comparing mowing heights and frequencies for greens.

The BASF BetterTurf team is already hard at work planning next years seminar series.  Look for more informative presentations on how to get the most from BASF turf products and the BetterTurf Bonus Program.
